Ten Years of Kissing
My wife turned 29 years old today. Happy Birthday, Sweetheart! Exactly ten years ago today we told each for the first time that we loved each other.

Wesley’s Ship Has Come In
This morning we woke up without Wesley. Wesley is our mellow (but occasionally spunky) 5 year-old Shih Tzu. We’ve been talking for a while about giving him up for adoption. He’s a great dog, but we hated boarding him anytime we traveled, and taking him with us on our cross-country trips home was always complicated. But, we would not give him to just anybody. We had to find the perfect home for him where he would get lots of love and attention.

Reading the Paper at Breakfast
Caleb and I eat breakfast together every morning. While eating we enjoy talking about what happened yesterday, what he’s going to do today, singing his favorite songs, and searching for almonds in our Honey Bunches of Oats cereal. But that’s not what he enjoys most.

Taking Care of Mommy
I have not been feeling well this week, so I planned to go to the doctor this morning. I was going to have to take Caleb with me, so Andy and I decided to prepare Caleb for going to my doctor’s appointment.

The Church as a Business?
I was reading an email from a friend today. In it he expressed to me his concern that churches, particularly larger ones like Fellowship Church seem to be just businesses. While there are perhaps some similarities between some churches and some businesses, I don’t feel like comparing the church to a business is a fair comparison.

Harrison Ford…and everyman’s reason for hope
Tiffany and I saw Firewall with Harrison Ford tonight. We both loved it. It was intense much like Air Force One. During the height of the thrill, I actually expected him to say, “Get off my plane.” It was fun. I think it should win an Oscar, but action movies rarely get good reviews, do they?

Party Music = Potty Music
How do you motivate a two year old to go potty? There are many ways, but our favorite is through music. The ones we use are songs that have the word “party” in it, and we simply change the lyric to “potty.”
