Baptism
Sunday morning, Caleb was baptized with my sister’s daughter Abby Trent.
Caleb and Abby are not only cousins but very close friends. The week before Easter, both chose to trust Christ as their savior. They each came to the decision to follow Christ while in different cities and in different ways.
The day before Easter, Caleb said he wanted to talk to us that night about something. After dinner, he pulled us aside and told us how he’d been thinking for a while about how he’d like to become a Christian. We explained in more detail what it meant. We made sure he believed Jesus died for his sin and rose again. We prayed and led him to confess his need for Jesus to be his savior and to entrust his life to Christ. It was a very cool moment.
Our church allowed Abby’s daddy Chris Trent to baptize the cousins together. Both of Caleb’s grandparents and a great grandparent came into town to watch the baptism and share the day with them. We are so proud of them.
“And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes.” – Galatians 3:27 NLT
