Easter Weekend
We had a great Easter weekend which is also the start of spring break for Caleb. Here are a few of the highlights.
The boys loved dyeing Easter eggs. Andrew was very upset when we were all done.
Our neighborhood had a big egg hunt and Easter party on Saturday. They always have the biggest cupcakes and the boys loved them.
The Easter bunny showed up at the party. I hope this is the last year I’ll have to be in the Easter bunny picture. Andrew was nervous at first, and he insisted that I come with him.
He warmed up to the bunny and eventually snuggled up to him.
We love doing the Resurrection Eggs the 12 days leading up to Easter. There is nothing like opening the last egg and realizing that it is empty like the tomb. We also do Easter story cookies the night before Easter. That is such an easy and vivid illustration of the Easter story. Every cookie is cracked open and hollow in the morning when they come out of the oven.
I couldn’t resist putting the boys in matching shirts for church on Sunday morning. Caleb still thinks it’s cool to match Andrew. I realize this probably won’t last much longer.
We finished the day with another egg hunt in our yard. Andrew did the entire egg hunt while holding a spoon. He is so random. He quit hunting when he realized the eggs were empty (unlike the neighborhood hunt where every egg was filled with candy). Caleb enjoyed hunting eggs, but he liked a lot of hints about where the eggs were hidden. He did find both prize eggs that had a dollar in them.
Blowing away a dandelion requires a huge inhale for a two-year-old.
Andy trying to “relax” on the couch…yeah right.
